Marquis Lorenzo McCoy is a writer, author, and founder of The McCoy Catalog, an independent literary project based in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

His work explores Catholic faith, masculinity, discipline, identity, legacy, and the unseen forces that shape a human life. Blending personal essay, theological reflection, cultural criticism, and fiction, McCoy writes from within the process of formation, not as someone who has arrived, but as someone seeking to understand what he believes, what he has inherited, and what he is being called to become.

He is the author of The Builder’s Season, The Desert Season, and The Formation of Man, the first three volumes of The McCoy Catalog. Together, these works document an evolving journey through ambition, solitude, relationships, spiritual conversion, and the pursuit of a life ordered toward something greater than the self.

A Catholic convert, McCoy was received into the Church at the Cathedral of Saint Paul in Minnesota. Its sacred architecture, liturgical life, and connection to the ancient Christian tradition continue to shape his imagination and writing.

McCoy holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and works in public service for the State of Minnesota. His professional and literary interests share a concern with institutions, human behavior, order, and the construction of things intended to endure.
